Jeremy and I got to take 2 weeks of vacation during the holidays and it was sooo nice!! The first part was kinda just a chill time as Jeremy was recovering from his wisdom teeth being taken out, although I must say I laughed at how silly he was coming out of the dentist office, he giggled all the way home!! I on the other hand always seem to get sick when I start vacation! I guess that it is kind of a shock to my body when I suddenly allow it to relax!!
We then headed to Jeremy's parents house for Christmas and stayed for a few days enjoying our time with Jeremy's parents, sister and her family, grandparents, aunts/uncles, and cousins! We always have a great time there as we eat good food and open lots of presents.
Then the last part of our vacation was spent just hanging out with each other and roaming around! We went shopping, went to the zoo, drove, and just stayed home and snuggled. It is so nice when we get to be together like that, I think it gives us a little boost in our relationship. Now we are back to work and I already miss that extra time I had with Jeremy! As much as I love my job, I love my husband even more and cherish being with him!! God did an amazing thing when he put us together and we celebrated 3 years of marriage on the 22nd of December! Yay!! The rest of our lives, here we come!!

How Fun!!
So....last Saturday I went and helped my coworkers at an event of giving away shoes at a local church!! I must say, if you ever get a chance of doing something like this, than do it!! There is nothing more fun than being able to sit down with a child and put a brand new pair of shoes on their feet! The majority of the children I helped, had holes in their shoes and the shoes were too small! So we were able to give them something that fit just right!! Although I found that it was even better to kind of look over the child and find a shoe that not only fit right, but fit their style as well!!
Oh the joys on their faces when they got "cool" shoes!! One little boy must have been around 3 years old and I figured "Bob the Builder" would be just right and they were!! LoL
But on a personal level, for me putting shoes on a little child feels absolutely amazing in my soul. You are able to sit and chat with the child a bit, hear a little about their lives of where they go to school and how many brothers and sisters they have. You get a little glimpse into their little worlds and its amazing to think of their lives to come!
We can only pray that from events like these, that lives will be renewed, bondages will be broken, and that God's love will abound even in the darkest and most harshest situations. We can only pray!

First time blogger!
Hey Everyone!! Well this is the first time I have ever blogged!! How exciting!! Well I guess with this first blog I will tell everyone a little about me:
I live in Missouri with my wonderful husband and we will be going on 3 years of marriage this year! We met/dated/got married within 2 and 1/2 months in 2006!! It was one of those things of when you know, you know!! I look back and laugh at myself and I will explain a little more in what I mean about this- All through high school and college I didn't date much (maybe had 2 or 3 boyfriends that whole time) and I can remember agonizing over it all and constantly fretting over when my time would come for a guy to come into my life who truly loved me!! It seemed as though around the age of 23 I finally let God just do what He wanted with me and let him move me from California to Missouri to work in full-time ministry and that was all I was focused on!! Shortly after that, poof, there was the man of my dreams and God truly knew the plans all along!! So it seems silly now that I just didn't trust God all along!!
I work for a non-profit called Rural Compassion (www.ruralcompassion.org) as a thrift store manager and whatever else that needs to be done!! Its a job that is very fulfilling and very rewarding!! If you don't know, we go into rural areas throughout the United States and help churches, leaders, or whoever is interested, get a vision for helping the impoverished and people in need!! It may be by helping with food pantries, seeing after-school programs get put in place, encouraging chaplains for fire/police/EMS, and much more! We also help after disasters have gone through small towns by bringing food, clothes, diapers, or whatever else is needed!!
I am currently working on getting my EMT registry and that is scary and fun all at the same time!! I have enjoyed learning how to help people in life-threatening situations, but you realize quickly how fragile life is and how much responsibility that EMTs, Paramedics, Fire Fighters, Police all have!! Kudos to all of you who work in these fields in serving and protecting everyone!
More to come later.......
